The Red Hot Valentines
April 19, 2002 . The Globe East . Milwaukee, WI
Filled with an enormous amount of energy, The Red Hot Valentines showed us the new meaning of power-pop as they opened for Ultimate Fakebook on April 19th at the Globe East in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As the band took the stage, there was quite a buzz in the audience. I listened to the other fans around who were focused on the keyboardist. The guy was crazy! I don’t think this band would be the same without him. He added a lot of extra sound and style to the songs that everyone really seemed to enjoy.
The band opened with "You Sang" and followed that with "Angela," "Firecracker," "You Gotta," "Everything’s Fine," "Bring Back," and finished their set with "I’m Sorry." The new song by The Red Hot Valentines, "Everything’s Fine," turned out to be a great tune and was played well despite it being new. The band played together with an amazing unity in pursuit of the perfection of live music. The variety of music these guys bring to the fans is amazing and if they keep it up, they'll never be lacking in popularity.
