Warped Tour Compilation 2004

Side One Dummy Records
Release Date: June 8, 2004

For the past few years, Side One Dummy Records has been known for putting out the Warped Tour Compilation, and in the summer of 2004 they are still carrying on that tradition.  As you all know, Warped Tour is one of the summer’s Warped Tour 2003largest concerts, and I’m sure you got the memo on how the last date is the 10-year anniversary, where a ton of the old headliners will be playing.  The 2004 compilation is nothing more than an appetizer to all of the musical talent that will be on tour this summer.

Stage one is loaded with trademark bands such as New Found Glory, Thursday, and Motion City Soundtrack.  Disc one features tracks such as Yellowcard’s “Breathing,” Sugarcult’s “Destination Anywhere," and LetterKill’s “Lights Out.”  Out spoken political bands NOFX and Anti-Flag can be found on Disc one sporting songs from their latest releases.

Denver Harbor LiveOne track I was incredibly impressed with was Denver Harbor’s "Picture Perfect Wannabe."  Denver Harbor is Will Salazar (voice/guitar), Aaron Rubin (bass), Chris Lewis (guitar) and Ilan Rubin (drummer).  Denver Harbor’s sound is unrefined and definitely has the influence of Fenix TX.

I favored Stage two because of its diversity and its pure tear your face off tone that it sheds.  I also favored the second disc because of the new Taking Back Sunday song “ATaking Back Sunday Decade Under the Influence. ”  Their new song sounds exactly the same as their old material, which doesn’t show much growth from 2002 debut release Tell All Your Friends, however, it is still pretty rad.  Stage two has quite a few big names itself, with headliners Good Charlotte, as well as other main stage acts such as Alkaline Trio and Coheed And Cambria.  Punk Voter contributor Bad Religion is the first track on this disc with “God’s Love.”

This two disc set is a great sampler of what’s coming up in music.  With 52 anthems for the summer, two rap songs, and a license to ill, this is obviously a must have for any collector.  I got this album for only eight bucks.  How could you possibly go wrong?
