Vendetta Red
Between The Never And The Now

Epic
Release Date: June 24, 2003
Vendetta Red is an outfit that has its roots dug deep into the moist earth of Seattle, Washington. The band's sultry lead singer, Zack Davidson, escaped a rocky childhood and retreated to writing the truest, most violently honest lyrics ever laid down. This is quite possibly my number four favorite disc ever made. When I first discovered Vendetta Red, they were opening for Something Corporate and they completely blew my doors. My friends did not have good things to say about them and I am now convinced that some of my friends are music nazis...(NO MUSIC FOR YOU!!!)
Zack is a dynamic frontman for an even more dynamic band. The long anticipated full length release was everything but a disappointment. I bought the disc the day it came out and for a solid month, it never left my car CD player. The single, "Shatterday," made radio and video waves. Personally, I think it is one of the weaker tracks, but has mass appeal. As usual, the safer, nothing new tracks are released leaving the edgier, quality tracks left hidden in the album.
The second track, "Stay Home," is a soul breaking ballad about parental abuse and the glory of spitting back in their face. Track number seven, "Caught You Like A Cold," is an amazing scream track. Also, "P.S. Love The Black," is very real, with a poetry interlude that makes blood flow from your eyes instead of tears... All and all, a disc that is good in the car, better live, and best in the tattoo shop.
