My tattoo guy originally turned me onto these guys. He said I would like them. I should always remember to listen to the advice given to me by my tattoo guy - and so should you for that matter. Originally from good ole Utah, The Used have seen their ups and downs and if you saw any of them on the street, you would think this was one of the downs.
The truth is, they are quite well adjusted, even after drug addictions and bad relationships.
I heard one song on an MTV comp and I was impressed. The song was "Box Of Sharp Objects." I really enjoy the raw factor of Bert's sound and the intense emotions of the lyrics. Did you know that Bert is known for throwing up on stage because of the strain he puts on his throat. That has to be a testament of how real his lyrics are. Personally, I am the biggest fan of their mainstream single, "Buried Myself Alive." "And if you want me back, you're gonna have to ask nicer than that," is just a sample lyric and example why I love this disc. I know it's not chic to like mainstream bands, but I do. Just like pickin' your nose in public, it's ok to do sometime. Also, it's a disc that I can spin in my car and not get any complaints. Definitely a crowd pleaser, even the tough ones.
