Release Date:  September 27, 2004

The Living End is one of Australia’s best loved bands.  With three full length albums and countless EP’s under their belt, The Living End LiveThe Living End have released heaps of singles over the years.  Therefore, releasing a singles album is the logical thing to do.

In case you’re not familiar with The Living End, they are a three-piece punk/rockabilly band from Melbourne.  They came to the attention of the country in 1998 when they released an EP containing the song "Prisoner of Society," which became an anthem for youth.  Since then, they’ve had more chart success and toured Australia, Canada, USA, Europe and Japan countless times, playing festivals such as the Big Day Out and Warped Tour.

When looking over the track listing you realize just how many great songs The Living End have written over the years.  From "Second Solution" and "West End Riot" in their early days to "One Said to the Other" and "Who’s Gonna Save The Living End LiveUs?" from their last release Modern Artillery, this album has it all.  Other notable mentions are "Pictures in the Mirror" and "Roll On."

The Living End LiveThe album also included two new songs from The Living End, "Bringin’ it all Back Home" and "I Can’t Give You What I Haven’t Got," which are both classic sounding songs.  "I Can’t Give You What I Haven’t Got" has been released as the band’s latest single in Australia.

Currently the album hasn’t been released in America or Europe, only in Australia and Japan.  Judging by the band’s large fanbase around the world, the American and European release is imminent.  Until then you can order the album from the band's official website http://www.thelivingend.com.

While fans will probably feel no need to own this album, as they already own the band’s other releases, this is still a really good reflection of the band’s career.  For people unfamiliar with The Living End, this would be an excellent introduction to the band’s work and will bring you up to speed in time for future releases.  Also if you have the chance you see The Living End live, you should, as they are a great live band as well.
