Something Corporate
North

Geffen Records
Release Date: October 21, 2003
Because I am a nerd, and a complete sucker for piano rock, I bought the new SOMETHING CORPORATE (SOCO) disc. I did, I admit it. I also bought copies for a few of my guy friends. So, how do you like that? The long anticipated (mostly by twelve year old girls) North was everything I knew it would be. Emotional to the seventieth power, and sweet, and perfect, and ... OK, I am done.
"Down" is the one track that made me find myself looking for the repeat button. Mostly, I adore this song because it reminded me how much I miss talking to my good friends. I want to be with all of them, but we are all far away from each other, so let's just run away. OK? No? OK. Fine. "Down" is a song about falling, and failing, and sharing dreams with whoever will listen. I heart this CD, but I don't think it is for anyone who is not a true romantic or sap.
