Avenged SevenfoldNow if you're looking for a various artist's CD that's filled with awesome bands and songs then Hopelessly Devoted To You Vol. 5 is definitely a record you want to get.  So if you're chosing between the latest Take Action CD and this one, definitely take this one.  On this CD, for every good song there's two more good ones to go along with it, which is the totally opposite from the Take Action CD since for every good song there's five bad songs on that record.  So when you first look at the CD title, you'd mostly get fooled into thinking it's some soundtrack for Grease, which it's not even close to since the songs are total opposites of songs from Grease.  This CD is filled with artists that are signed to Hopeless Records, and every one that knows what record company that is, definitely knows that the bands on there are pretty far away from sounding like a poppy musical.

Once you see that Avenged Sevenfold is on this CD you definitely know this CD is mostly gonna be filled with hardcore bands.  "Chapter Four" is hardcore with a metal touch to it.  It has dark lyrics like "From the soil I hear his blood cry out to me/Murder, liar, vengeance, deceit."Amber Pacific

Amber Pacific is one of the more emo bands on the CD.  Their song "Always You" will definitely be one of the more favorite songs off the record for the people who like emo and pop-punk bands.  The lead singer has this weird voice that in a lot of ways you like, but in other ways, there's something about it that kinda annoys you, but overall his voice is pretty good.  The song has a bit of typical lyrics like "And I can't sleep without you" and "I'll be there everytime/In your heart and in your eyes."

I don't know how, but the second I heard screaming vocals start up in "Comfort In Cold Blood," I immediately knew it was Break The Silence.  Even though most people consider Dan Wintercorn's scream to be like all the other screams in music that sound like Break The Silence, there's something about it that I can immediately recognize that it's him.  Well, one thing I Break The Silenceimmediately notice about it is that it doesn't sound like your typical Break The Silence song.  It isn't really fast paced like the others and the vocals aren't as melodic as they usually are.  So it's a bit of a different sound for Break The Silence.

Another band that all you hardcore fans out there will enjoy listening to is Thrice.  "To Awake And Avenge The Dead" is definitely one of the better songs off this record.  It has a chorus that exclaims "This violence in the name of love."  And the very end is when it really gets heavy and they start screaming exactly what the title of the song is.

So if you just happen to be in a record store one day and run into Hopelessly Devoted To You Vol. 5, you should definitely get it.  It, also, has the videos for Thrice's "Deadbolt" and Avenged Sevenfold's "Unholy Confessions."  All you hardcore kids will definitely love this album.
