NEWEST STUFF

Further Seems Forever
Hide Nothing
Further Seems Forever with Hide Nothing
Tooth & Nail Records
Release Date: August 24, 2004

Further Seems Forever has come a long way from their first release, The Moon is Down.  With their constant vocalist Further Seems Forever Promo Shotchanges we all wonder how Further Seems Forever was able to come out with their third record, Hide Nothing.  Well, somehow they managed to come out with a great record with awesome melodic vocals from their new singer, Jon Bunch.

The first song on the CD is "Light Up Ahead."  The song talks a lot about a girl who brightens up this guy's world, for example, "The times that I feel like nothing/You bring enough/So I can live for something/You lift me up."

The next song off the record is "Hide Nothing."  It starts off with a rocky guitar riff thenFurther Seems Forever Live "We live and we learn/And we crash and we burn/And we're gone" starts being sung.  Then after the verse the chorus jumps in and has some good lyrics like "Change is coming/No, it's nothing personal."

The seventh song off the album is "Lead the Way."  I have to say, there is a lot of repeating in this song.  For example, the first half of the song is talking about not being above certain things.  Almost every line in the first half starts off with "I'm not above."  Then the second half repeats "You know me better than I do/It's better if you lead the way."

Further Seems Forever Promo ShotOne weird thing about the record is that "Make It A Part" and "All Rise" are practically the same song.  The first halves are a bit different, but the second halves of the songs are practically exactly the same.  Both have lines in it like "Make it a part of who we are/There's so much left for us to learn" and both have "Love is coming" repeated constantly.  The only difference is the end of "Make It A Part" has "Love is coming/Love won't let you die alone" being sung at the end.

"Like Someone You Know," is one of my favorite songs off of the record.  It's definitely more rockier than most of the songs.  It immediately jumps in the song by having "Watch somebody fall from grace/When there's nobody left to take their place" being sung.  The chorus of the song mainly constist of "Take my soul I'm.../Break my heart I'm...ready, ready, ready when you are."

Further Seems Forever LiveThe last song on the record is an acoustic type song called "For All We Know."  The vocals are smooth and melodic, with lyrics like "Cause I'll be the first and the last one to go/Lord, it's cruel, cruel world without love."  Every so often Jon Bunch sings "Cruel, cruel, cruel," which sounds a bit like an owl hooting during the night.

The album art is very interesting and unique.  They try to make one part of the packaging look almost exactly like the opposite side of the packaging.  The middle of it opens up and exposes a heart in the very center of the packaging.

"Already Gone" is filled with melodic vocals and a rocky chorus.  With verses that have great lyrics, such as "Hope against hope," that kids will fill their profiles up with.  Then a chorus that sings "Already gone aren't you/Already I can't let you go."

Overall, Further Seems Forever has an amazing album with a few flaws in it.  The constant repeating is definitely one of it's major flaws, but each song has its own little unique sound to it that makes it an amazing record.
