Every Time I Die
Hot Damn!

Ferret Records
Release Date: July 1, 2003
I had heard about this band from some people a while back, and when I stumbled upon this CD I decided to check it
out. I wasn't disappointed, it was pretty amazing. This has to be one of the heaviest, most intense metalcore bands anyone has ever heard. It’s pretty chaotic too.
Now ask yourself, what is the BEST part of EVERY metal/hardcore song? Exactly, it’s the breakdown! The one part that will send chills down your spine every single time. Now ask yourself how cool would it be to hear songs that sound as if they are composed entirely of sweet breakdowns and chaos? Yeah, I bet you would be really happy. This, my friends, is why Every Time I Die is such a beautiful thing.
There were a few things I didn't like. This whole CD is filled will hasty and nervous guitar riffs, which I love, don't get me wrong, but it's hard to feel any emotion at all through their playing of the guitar. And the vocals are very monotone most times. And that is about it for dislikes. One thing I do like is all the intense energy you feel off this record. It never stops! Here is yet another CD that makes you want to just hit your
mom in the face.
I bet these guys have the most amazing stage performance anyone has ever laid eyes on. I personally have not seen them yet, but you'd better believe that I will one day soon. With all the energy this music brings just by itself, you just know the stage presence is amazing.
Something else I noticed about this CD is that the guitar and everything else, for that matter, is not reproduced very clean. It is not as bad as their earlier EP, The Burial Plot Bidding War
but it's still pretty muddy sounding. I suppose they did it on purpose, but I am not too sure if I like it too much. They have a lot of potential though!
Like I said, this band is like no other you have heard. You don't hear the ever popular one or two beat pauses in their music that you hear a lot in other bands that sound similar to this. There are so many changes in their songs you never know what to expect, and you get caught off guardl; yeah it’s sweet. They also speed up and slow down at weird times and in weird ways. I don't think these guys ever care about time signatures, but hey, that is awesome, more power to them. Check them out
