Eisley
 The Laughing City EP

Eisley with the Laughing City EP

Record Collection
Release Date: May 20, 2003

OK, I do not like chic bands, but I love these guys.  After seeing them live with Brand New, I ran out and ordered The Laughing City EP the next day.  There are only five songs on the EP, but they are amazing.  These five tracks were a sweet sample of what Eisley has to offer which of course left more longing for more.

You could consider Eisley somewhat of a modern day rendition of The Partridge Family or The Brady Bunch (yeah, remember when they started their own group?) The three front-girls are sisters, accompanied by their brother, and Jon Wilson on bass guitar.  No, Mommy and Daddy Eisley don't manage the band in case you were wondering.

"I Wasn't Prepared," is the opening track and will pull at your heart strings.  Romantic and whimsical.  It makes you really want to go out and buy a scarf, not sure why that is though.  The third song, "Tree Tops," has just enough whine, and even more sexy, and will definitely be stuck in your head for a couple of days.  I love the raspy pleasure in every note they sing, it's tantalizing and yummy.  It is really amazing how they carry it throughout the entire album - very impressive.

These chicks (and the guys who accompany them) are girly, and delicate, and tender.  I say, run out and buy the disc and allow yourself to fall in love... Then go see them in concert, and try not to tear up (we won't tell anyone if ya do though!).

XROXX rating: XXX (3 X's out of a possible 5 X's)
