die trying

When I first heard one of Die Trying's songs ("Oxygen's Gone), I didn't think that they were all that bad.  So I went out and bought their record, which is self-titled.  Usually the first song off the record is the record's best and the one that would most likely be a hit.  Well, it was totally the opposite with this CD.  There were songs on there that were ten times better than their first released song, and "Oxygen's Gone" is probably one of the least likely songs that would be a hit off that record.  So I went from thinking that they weren't all that bad to that they were a pretty awesome band.

"Oxygen's Gone" is a pretty good rock song.  It's probably my least favorite song off the record though.  It had a catchy chorus and kinda boring verses.  They actually made a video fodie tryingr this song which had members of Papa Roach in it.

So "Oxygen's Gone" isn't much of a song you'd be all excited about, but then you listen to "Fuck You."  It's got a more upbeat sound to it.  And it has one of those chorus that you jump around and flick people off to.  And for all you rebellious people out there you'll have a lot of fun with this song since you get to sing 'fuck you' a million times with it.

Another song off the record is "Runaway."  It's filled with hard rock.  It's also filled with good verses and a pretty good chorus.  But the part that I really like in the song is the bridge.  It goes a bit harder and sings "'Cause the pressure's got to you/And you can't fight no more/Fight no modie tryingre" twice.  It's the part that definitely catches your....ear.

So when you first hear "Turn Up the Radio" you think that it's gonna be another one of those more boring, depressing songs.  Then it completely changes when the chorus comes.  The chorus is catchy and something that makes you want to jump along with it and sing "Turn up the radio."  The bridge also does not disappoint.

"Dirty Dirty" is another song that will catch your attention.  It has chorus that sings "I know what girls like/I know what girls want/I got it inside/it's dirty, dirty."  It has resung parts from "I Know What Boys Like" and has a part done in it by Roxy Saint.

So if you like Papa Roach, you'd most likely will like Die Trying since they sound a bit like them and their song, "Conquer The World," has Jacoby Shaddix doing some of the vocals in it.  So if you're into rock bands like Papa Roach, you should pick up this record.
