Armor For Sleep
What To Do When You Are Dead
Armor For Sleep with What To Do When You Are Dead
Equal Vision Records
Release Date:  Febuary 22, 2005

Well, I have to say that Armor For Sleep's What To Do When You Are Dead is probably one of the best albums so far Armor For Sleep Promo Shotthis year.  Every single song just blows you away.  The album has it's own little story line going that's about dying and what happens and what to do after you're dead.  The story line makes the CD even more interesting to listen to.  The songs go from being very eerie to being very rocky and catchy.

One of the first songs off the record is "Car Underwater."  This is the song where you find out about the death of a guy, which there's no need to explain how.  The title kinda gives that away.  The song starts off all calm and then unexpectingly a burst of energy comes through from the chorus, which is pretty catchy.  This song basically prepares you for the rest of the record, yet somehow leaves you unprepared for some things that appear on the record a bit later on.

One song that might catch the more hardcore fans is "Stay On the Ground."  It is a lot harder than most of the other Armor For Sleep Livesongs on the record.  The pre-chorus and bridge have the singing that hardcore fans might like a bit more than most.  Others might just find it a bit odd, however.  You can expect any type of reaction from this song.

A song that really stood out to me was "Basement Ghost Singing."  Even though this song is a bit slower and calmer than the rest, I just took an immediate big liking to it.  It has a pretty eerie feel to it, which kinda goes along with the lyrics.  By just listening to the the song without paying attention to the lyrics or just reading the lyrics, you can really get the feel of the song.  I just find this song so interesting to listen to.

"The Truth About Heaven" is one of the songs that has more of an emo vibe going throughout the lyrics.  It has a chorus that sings "I came down here to tell you it rains in heaven all day long/I wanna find you so bad and let you know I'm miserable up here without you."  This is definitely one of the songs that people who are into emo will like.

Armor For Sleep Promo ShotProbably one of my favorite songs off the record is "The More You Talk The Less I Hear."  The chorus catches you a bit and the bridge is just so awesome.  The beginning part of the bridge has the noise of a storm and the lyrics in it are awesome to.  Some of the ones I really took a liking to were, "The stars are falling down/Breaking up the road/Try to keep/Trying to keep me away from you" and "I'll scream til I bleed/ I'll scream stay away from me/ You can't keep me back".

This record is a definite must have.  It's amazing in a least 50 different ways, all the songs are unique, and there's a lot of variety going on.  What To Do When You Are Dead will NOT disappoint you.

XROXX Album Rating:  XXXXX (5 X's out of a possible 5 X's)
