A 10 Question Interview

1) Tell us a little bit about the band - your members, where you are from, and how you got started.
Well, me and my drummer George Vegas started as a hip-hop, rap-rock thing, it was not even music, and then we got Robert in the band, I got him a bass and amp for his b-day and we got crackin'...
2) How many shows do you guys place a month - are they all in town / how far do you travel?
We jam all over Texas. We have played over 350 shows in the past 3-1/2 as a band
3) Does everyone in the band help write the song lyrics?
In the beginning , me and my drummer wrote songs, but the last two albums I have written
all our songs lyrics
4) Who would you say your major influences are/who do your fans think you sound like?
New Found Glory, Finch, My Hotel Year, Thrice, Every Tme I Die, alexisonfire, American Football
5) Tell us a funny story of something that happened to you guys when you have been out on the road.
Our drummer almost getting his ass kicked by two cholos, "Mexican wanna be gangsters" at the Corpus mall, or us farting so much we almost killed our band manager on his first trip with us. Um, when our drummer George caught his ex kissing and making out with chicks, or when he got dumped for a chick!!
6) What are some of the other bands that you have played with?
Dynamite Boy, Ataris, Cruiserweight, Near Miss,Triple Shot, December Drive, New Transit Order, In Hop Lies Seasons, Audio Karate, Ozma, Scary Scary Kids, Last Famous Words, Long Shot, Vally Lemmons, Unloco, FAT JOE, OFF beat, Protein C, and other awesome local bands.
7) Fill us in on some new bands that we should check out that we might not have heard of yet.
Last Famous Words from EL Paso is a very cool band; In hope lies Seasons from College Station.
8) What's more important to you guys in your music...awesome lyrics or a sweet sound?
Sweet sounding lyrics boy!!
9) What else is on tap for 3rd-N-Long for the rest of 2004?
Touring and jamming as many shows as possible, recording our fourth album, Same Sky Different Surroundings and, for Jorge the lead singer, a new baby boy!
10) Anything else we should know about the band?
We work hard, play even harder and dream about making it big, and when we wake up in the mornings it is big!! Joking, we want it bad. Our label we have been shopping for is DRIVE-THRU RECORDS. We hope to one day tour and jam with them!!
