10 Quick Questions with Two Minute Warning

The Shotgun Interview

1) Tell us a little bit about the band - your members, where you are from, how you got started, how long you have been together?
The members of Two Minute Warning are Chris, Matt, Mike, Jon, and Craig.  Respectively from Boylston, MA, Northboro, MA, Southboro, MA, Hudson, MA, and Hudson, MA.   We got started about four years ago now with just Chris, Mike and Jon.  Soon after we added Matt, whom just moved to MA from Kansas.   The four-piece band was around until just this year when we added Craig, to take Chris' spot playing bass, so Chris could just sing.

2) How many shows do you guys play a month - are they all in town/how far do you travel?
We TRY to do like one a month because we are all still in school, and it is hard to get everyone together with our different schedules.   We have a couple coming up real soon, and we are playing in a show for Universal/Island/Columbia Records in January.   We MAY even get a show in Germany with them so fans in Germany better come out to see us!

3) Does the band write the song lyrics or the music first?
We usually write the music first then Cris will listen to it and write words so they fit the mood, etc...

4) What do you use for lyrical inspiration – what do you like to write songs about?
Oh geez, like most bands of our genre they are about girls, whether we love them, hate them, or just don't get them.   But we do need to broaden our spectrum.

5) Who would you say your major influences are/who do your fans think you sound like?
Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Blink 182, Senses Fail.....mostly though fans say we sound like Blink...but we need to shed that image a little because we don't think we do that much anymore.

6) How did you guys come up with your band name?   Was it your original band name?
Patriots Super Bowl....Yes, it was always our band name, no one else had it in our area so why not, right?!

7) Does the band have a favorite venue/city to play at?
Worcester....Palladium....but soon probably Boston when we play at the Avalon...THAT would be our BIGGEST show ever!

8) Fill us in on some new bands that we should check out that we might not have heard of yet.
Set Off Balance, Senior Discount....I can't really think...

9) When can we expect some new music from the band?
REAL soon..like we are recording this fall/winter.

10) Anything else we should know about Two Minute Warning?
