Zero2none started in the Winter of 1999. We used to practice over at Larger Than Life's studio in El Cajon. The band originally consisted of five members. Steve Diaz (guitar), Jordan Lopez (bass), Jason Diaz (drums), Ryan Williams (singer), and Liem Le (guitar). Well over the years we all started to grow up and move on , so we went through various members in the band. We took about four months in 2001 off and all came back together. Well at least Steve Jordan and Jason did. We started looking for singers and guitar players and it was hard to find someone who would click with us so we decided to be a three piece. We have been a three piece since the summer of 2003, and we like it. There are plans to go back to a four piece in the future though.
We have played all over San Diego. Here is a list: The Scene, The Epicenter, Just Java, Canes, City Heights Street Fair, Xanth, The Santee Teen Center, The Alpine Teen Center, San Marcos Guitar Center, The Longshot Saloon, Lakeside VFW, Santee City Hall, The Golden Goose Cafe, and an endless number of parties.
What is our music about?? Well we write songs about the current situation, what ever pisses us off, or a great summer we had. And there are always girls. Now we know every band sings about girls, but those songs seem easy to write and it is something everyone can relate to. So bah.
Here are some things we like to do: We like to record, Hang out at Mulvanys, go to parties, go to the desert, go to Mexico, travel, and go to the beach. Almost every Sunday during the summer, you can find us at Law Street in P.B. We are there from 6 am to about 5 pm. We're beach bums. We like to have fun and that is what all bands should do. If you don't enjoy what you do, why do it?
I quote this from Jordan, "This band is the purest thing I do" and we all agree. Most of time people just look at local bands as some kids making noise. Not true. A Band is a group of PEOPLE who enter a room, letting whatever happened to them that day go, for music. They put their thoughts and hearts into what they do. There are no coaches, no one to tell them what they can and can't do. And that is what we love about it. Support all local music!!
