Founded in January 1999, E.X. VORTEX is a five-man rock band, consisting of a guitarist, turntablist, bassist, drummer and a lead vocalist. The band likes to describe it's music as "GHETTO METAL, incorporating heavy metal, funk, jazz, punk, and hip-hop.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS (So Far)
*E.X. VORTEX was featured on OUTKAST's multi-platinum GRAMMY-AWARD WINNING album "STANKONIA," and has recorded a GHETTO METAL version remake of the PUBLIC ENEMY classic "BUCKWHYLIN'" featuring the legendary CHUCK D w/ Professor Griff doing guest spots.
*Releases their debut five-song E.P. GHETTO METAL in the SPRING of 2002; it recieves almost immediate attention throughout the Southeast and abroad.
*The list of interviews in major and local publications continue to grow; E.X VORTEX has had interviews in SOUTHEAST PERFORMER (SEPT.ISSUE-ALBUM REVIEW), METAL EDGE MAGAZINE (DEC.2002 ISSUE w/ Bon Jovi on the cover), LEFTFIELD, SLAM JAMZ.COM, BAND RADIO.COM, ROLLING OUT MAGAZINE, and MUSIC INTERVIEW.COM - just to name a few.
