Antillectual is a punk rock trio from the Nijmegen area in the Netherlands. They make music in the vein of Propagandhi, Strike Anywhere & Rise Against; political lyrics on melodic music.
Biography Inspired by the melodic punk wave of the nineties, Antillectual kicked off in September 2000. Their first show took place in January 2001. After having played tens of shows they record Penetrating The Industry in November 2001. This EP got them a lot of positive responses and shows. After a year of hard work they recorded Facts, Opinions & In Between in November 2002. This record got even better response and took Antillectual abroad to tour all over Europe and the U.S.A. In May 2004, Antillectual recorded three demo songs for an upcoming full-length. In November and December 2004 they recorded their debut full-length album Silencing Civilization.

Debut Full-Length Silencing Civilization Silencing Civilization consists of ten songs in 30 minutes ranging from metal-inspired, up-tempo punk to emo-based, sensitive, mid-tempo rock songs, accompanied by lyrics on politics, protest and personal feelings. Menno Bakker from Bunt’s Studio (NRA, Seein’ Red, Undeclinable) was responsible for recording and mixing. Alan Douches mastered this record at West West Side Music Studio in New Jersey, USA (Sick Of It All, Sepultura, Thrice). The album also features guest vocals from Wick Bambix. The Antillectuals debut will be released on CD through Angry Youth Records and distributed in Europe through Sonic Rendez-Vous. Square of Opposition Records will release the album on vinyl in the U.S.A. Dead Tank Records will help with distribution in the U.S.A.
Live The last months Antillectual has played over 50 shows. Among that, a that week U.S.A. tour. They have played with bands like Ignite, Against Me!, The Lawrence Arms, Fabulous Disaster, Remains Of The Day, Endstand, and Section 8 to name just a couple. Besides touring the U.S.A. Antillectual has toured several times in Italy, Germany and Luxembourg. Antillectual play energetic live shows that have moved a lot of people so far.
