Alius Spero was formed in 2004 when Zack Gowan (guitar, vocals), David Place (bass, vocals) and Devon McCarthy (guitar) joined up with local drummer of Death by Romance, Jake Ricker (drums). When the four first practiced together they realized they were able to produce an amazingly unique and uncomparably powerful sound.
In Later August-ish 2004, Alius recorded their first full-length acoustic CD called A Suitcase Full of Memories.
Alius makes an honest attempt at working hard in improving themselves as a band and will stop at nothing to see that they continue to grow in every aspect. With the help of Rich (their webmaster for The Alius Spero website), other bands such as A Better Fall, Bullets Past Sunset, Fail-Safe, The Mark, DriveinFuneral, Eighty Six, Jaded Ways all of the others that helped Alius in life.
The Band grows together as friends and the lyrical composition increases with time, along with our respect for the instruments that we play. The four best friends will not just be known as individuals or just a group of kids making music - they will forever be known as Alius Spero.
