A Narcissistic Romance was formed in February 2004 when the punk rock trio Jump Ship fell apart. The band was originally called Dead Romance and for the first few months was without a bassist. They recorded a three-song demo in May 2004, only two demos (the master and one made to enter a local high school rock concert) were ever made. One song off this demo can be heard on their myspace profile. It's called Hockey Night and the recording is crap!
After that the band found a bassist, Jesse. Jesse was with the band for a few weeks before disappearing...in the sense...they don't know where he went...One practice got cancelled and they never heard of him again. So if you're out there Jesse give us a call!! After that the band play a few shows here and there and landed an opening spot on the Rockers For Knockers Tour featuring bands like Crowned King, Green Division, and The Pylons. The tour was a breast cancer benefit tour. Since then the band has played countless shows and have decided to stay a duo and not look for a bassist anymore.
Kevan is now playing through two amps and it beats having to show someone all their songs. In December 2004, the band recorded eight songs (one was an acoustic version of a song they already had recorded) and they plan to be releasing a CD sometime in Spring/Summer 2005. With A Narcissistic Romance's songs ranging from relationships, family problems, and corrupt governments, the album should be a good one. As for now the band continues to write new songs and play shows. So watch out for them, they will be coming to your town soon!! SO THROW A PARTY FOR THEM!!
